The “City Centered, a Festival on locative media and urban community” was held this year, in June, in San Francisco. The Festival is the most recent and relevant occasion to compare different approaches in locative media research and it is here used to examine some issues related to the emergence of locative media as one of the most creative and innovative experiences in the digital contemporary culture.
